Who Is Fake Shay? Where Faith Meets Real-World Challenges
At A2GG Apologetix, we believe students learn to defend their faith by actually practicing it. Inspired by the scenario-based, hands-on training methods our founder, Shay Gilliam, learned during his military service, Fake Shay transforms traditional Christian apologetics education into an interactive training experience. Rather than relying on lengthy lectures, we combine a little classroom instruction with a lot of real-world application. Through challenging conversations, role-playing exercises, and guided discussions, Fake Shay presents students with opposing worldviews, difficult theological questions, and common objections to Christianity. Students must think critically, apply Scripture, construct logical arguments, and articulate their beliefs with confidence, humility, and grace. It's experiential learning designed to move students from simply knowing what they believe to understanding why they believe it to applying logical and sound reasoning.
What makes Fake Shay distinctive is our emphasis on understanding both sides of the conversation. Effective Christian apologetics requires more than knowing the Bible; it also requires understanding the beliefs, assumptions, and reasoning of the person asking the questions. Our instructors must be equipped to accurately represent competing worldviews, anticipate objections, and challenge students without misrepresenting opposing perspectives. This approach helps students develop biblical literacy, critical thinking, active listening, and respectful dialogue—essential skills for engaging today's culture. While many apologetics programs focus primarily on teaching information, Fake Shay allows us to concentrate on practical application, real-time engagement, and discipleship through experience. Our goal isn't to create students who simply win debates. It's to equip the next generation of Christians to defend their faith, engage different worldviews with truth and love, and confidently point others to Jesus Christ (1 Peter 3:15).
