The Gap A2GG Apologetix Fills
From content to competence.
Many ministries major on lectures; A2GG majors on live practice. Teens don’t just receive answers—they rehearse real conversations before they hit campus pressure. This targets the “unsafe for doubts / shallow teaching” problem identified by Barna.
The “Fake Shay” practicum (inoculation by exposure).
In a guided simulation, a trained instructor adopts a skeptic/critic persona (Fake Shay) so students confront hard objections in a safe, pastoral environment. Research indicates doubt processing with caring adults builds longer-term resilience; Fake Shay is a structured way to do exactly that.
Science, reason, and Scripture—together.
Because conflict with science and perceived anti-intellectualism are common exit ramps, A2GG integrates reasoned argument, evidence, and biblical theology side-by-side, addressing top doubt drivers head-on.
Relationships that stick.
A2GG seeks to pair cohorts with mentors and equips parents/youth leaders, aligning with evidence that intergenerational ties in high school predict more stable faith in college.

Measurable formation.
We recommend pre/post tools (confidence in sharing faith, ability to name/answer top objections).
What success looks like (evidence-aligned outcomes)
-
Cognitive: Students can name the Gospel, define truth, and articulate reasons for God/Scripture; they can map and answer the top 3 objections they personally face. (Addresses “shallow teaching” and “not safe for doubts.”)
-
Resilience: Students report higher confidence for campus conversations; mentors and parents report growth in knowledge, empathy, and clarity—aligned with research that engaging, not avoiding, doubt builds durability.
-
Well-being: Increased connection and purpose—factors associated with better mental-health outcomes for Gen Z who engage spiritually in community.
